KJ was styling today so I couldn't resist taking a photo of her outfit! Totally on trend in her mint jeans and cardigan! I am also loving her Zimmerman sandals. She did have mint loafers on at the beginning of the day but they were hurting her feet. Never-mind, her sandals are a winner anyway!

Today KJ and I had lunch at the Museum of Contemporary Art's new restaurant located on the terrace level of the museum. It is aptly named "MCA Restaurant" and has only been open three weeks.

The view is enough to win you over. What a beautiful day it was to sit by the harbour with a perfect view of the Opera House. Sydney really is beautiful. Lovely to sit back with a glass of wine and watch the ferries go past. In the ways of decor, there wasn't much. Very simple white table clothes and white linen serviettes. The waiters were dressed in smart white and black attire. They curve ball were the brightly coloured, stripy deck chairs. Although I didn't mind the look it made you feel like you were sitting on the beach at Bondi rather than in the art gallery. I feel that the chairs should be more art deco to go with the building.

The winter menu is quite concise but I rather enjoyed it. It had a Mediterranean feel and consisted of small selection of tarts, soups, salads, pasta, a lot of seafood and a few meat options as well as a good range of sides. It also had two shared dishes and a large range of sweets to  have with tea and coffee which, are available all day. Most of the dishes had the option of being entree or main size, which I liked. We started with lovely sourdough, complimentary bread rolls. Lately it is quite rare to be given complimentary bread. It is a shame. KJ ordered the "Spice Crusted Seared Ocean Trout, Fennel and Apple Slaw, Fetta and Currants". It was absolutely delicious. The trout was perfectly pink and simply fell apart. The apple slaw salad was very refreshing and light. It was the perfect accompaniment for the trout. I had the "Shave Cabbage, Flat Leaf Parsley, Parmesan and Lemon Oil" with the "Market Steamed Greens in Garlic Oil". They were both absolutely sublime. Great sized portions. The fresh parmesan was delicious combined with the cabbage and lemon oil (I much preferred the lemon oil to the usual balsamic vinegar). The greens consisted of spinach, green beans and broccoli and they were garlicy and very crisp. Our waiter was extremely friendly. We had a great chat. He said that he judges a restaurant by its vegetarian dishes because meat is the same everywhere. He recommended that next time we come we should try the "Mushroom Tart" which is the vegetarian option. He spoke very highly of it! I have also read that the seared scallops on risotto are fantastic!

Top Left: Bread (complimentary)
Top Right: Seared Ocean Trout with Apple Slaw $26
Bottom Left: Cabbage Salad with Parmesan and Lemon Oil $8
Bottom Right: Steamed Market Greens $10

At the end of our meal we were offered free lolly bags full of blue and white chocolates and lollies left over from a function last night! How lovely, great treats for the bus on the way home!

Complimentary Lolly Bag

Cardigan: Living Doll

Overall, it was a great experience for an inexpensive price. The position is breath taking, the service fantastic and the food  scrumptious. I can't wait to return in a couple of months when they are completely settled in. Although, I am already thinking about returning for a lunch date next week, too soon!?

Did not thought about this until now :)Yacon Syrup
Extract suppresses the pancreatic from breaking up down starch into maltose and dextrin. It also
prevents the development of alpha-amylase digestive enzymes in the body system.
Medical practitioners usually suggest this to their customers who are diabetic patients because the Yacon Syrup stops the
construction of alpha-glucosidase found in the colon from transitioning disaccharides and
starches into sugar and carbohydrates. Yacon Syrup benefits
also stops glucose and carbohydrates from transforming into
unwanted extra fat by blocking the making of citrate
lyase. Some health professionals use Garcinia as a laxative to help with congestion or
other wellness functions such as fat burning, a stress reliever, depressive disorder, changes in mood and as a help to having a beneficial night nap.
