It's Black, It's White

Top and Skirt: Bec and Bridge
Watch: Swatch
Handbag: Shakuhachi
Shoes: Shakuhachi
Jumper: DKNY for Opening Ceremony

Nothing is more timeless than black and white stripes. This Bec and Bridge set brings a playful aspect to the standard black and white stripe. The white top with black stripes has a beautiful open back, which is perfect for summer and contrasts well with the body con, black with white stripe mini skirt with front zipper. For a relaxed feel I have added my newest obsession and equally as timeless DKNY for Opening Ceremony sweater.

Venue: Papi Chulo, Manly
Go to dish: Wood-fire grilled jump king prawns and Dan Hong's (not a) chopped salad
Highlight: Merivale's fit out (of course)

VFNO!

Head to toe in Shakuhachi

Last Thursday night (5 September 2013) Sydney's CBD shopping precinct was transformed into a fashionista's paradise for the annual Vogue Fashion Night Out. The city was buzzing with thousands of excited shoppers keen to be part of the action and be given the VIP treatment. There were many special promotions and discounts in stores as well as a variety of fun activities including photo booths, acrobats, male models, nail bars, etc.

I wore one of the standout pieces from Shakuhachi's upcoming Cruise 13/14 collection 'Cyber Barbarella'. My 'Zebra Crossing Flip Dress' went perfectly with my favourite Shakuhachi 'Gladiator Heels' and 'Oversized Leather Handbag'. It was a little chilly so I also had my awesome Karen Walker 'Bloody Rose Sweater' just to add another pattern to my outfit!

After consuming a lot of cupcakes, lollies and shopping up a storm I headed to the central hub of Vogue Fashion Night Out - The Social Party hosted by Pelicano. David Jones' Level 7 was transformed into a Mediterranean paradise in true blue and white stripe fashion. The main feature of the room was the pop up bar by Pelicano of Double Bay. The bar boys were serving fruity cocktails of ULTIMAT VODKA and PATRON TEQUILA in jam jars and martini glasses. As the drinks kept coming the dance floor filled up with celebrities, socialites, designers and bloggers alike dancing to the awesome beats by Robyn Lawley. Guests included David Jones ambassador, Megan Gale, Tahyna Tozzi, Camilla Franks, Sophie Falkiner, Elle Ferguson and Tash Sefton from 'They All Hate Us' just to name a few.

If you wanted a break from the dance floor you could have had your make up done by Yves Saint Laurent cosmetics or #fno on your Instagram snap to watch it appear on the live slideshow.

What a night. Hurry up next September, I want to go again!

Same, Same but Different

Sunglasses: Sportsgirl + DIY
Dress: L'America
Shoes: Adidas
Bag: Shakuhachi

Today was all about fresh new season takes on some of my past seasons favourites! I was a fan of L'America's Jersey Dress from the get go so no surprises I jumped straight back on the bandwagon when they released new colours for their Spring/Summer '13 collection. Keeping it classic my black and white jersey team dress was the perfect accompaniment to my Adidas slides. Yes, many of you will be thinking I have committed fashion suicide but I am all about slides for the silly season!

I was super excited to go to lunch at Fratelli Fresh's latest venture - Cafe Sopra, Alexandria. The classic Cafe Sopra touch with a new tinge. Cafe Sopra has opened in an old pub near Mitchell Road, Alexandria. The pub has been almost completely reinvented with only the U-shaped bar with beer taps left. Out with the old pub vibe in with Fratelli's signature fresh produce and equally as fresh food! Signature dishes appear on the menu - yay for the meatball pasta! One noticeable difference though - actual menus, no signature chalk black boards in sight!

Fratelli Fresh Cafe Sopra Alexandria Highlight: Amazing produce - amazing vibe!

On The Menu:
Sparking Water
Stuffed Five Cheeses Zucchini Flower
Brussel Sprout Salad
Broccoli Fresh
Tomatoes
Chips

Overall: 9/10
Ambiance: 9.5/10

Love Birks

Hat: Sportsgirl
Sunglasses: Pared Eyewear
Shirt: Agent99
Jeans: Ksubi
Shoes: Birkenstock
Handbag: Shakuhachi

You have either jumped on the latest trend band wagon and are loving Birkenstocks right now or you still think they are just for overseas tourists or for people with orthopedic issues!  It seems designers can't get enough - they are appearing on runways everywhere around the world and are featured in many Summer campaigns.

Of course, I LOVE them! I'm always up for trying something new, even if my friends won't let me walk with them when I am wearing them! They were surprisingly hard to find though - who would have thought Birkenstocks were so hard to track down!

Jumper: Unknown
Top: Agent99
Pants: Winston Wolfe
Shoes: Birkenstock
Handbag: Shakuhachi

I feel like they look super great when worn with leather or dressed down with a big floppy hat. I wore them with all black yesterday to work - I traded in my heels for my Birks, now that is saying something!

I ventured back to Ashfield on the weekend to have lunch at one of my favourite cafes - Excelsior Jones. They really do never disappoint!

Excelsior Jones Highlight: Creamy Mushies

On The Menu:
EBT

Nicoise Salad
Sauteed Mushrooms on Toast

Night Rider

Tee: Neon Hart
Necklaces: Kookai, Vintage, Sportsgirl
Dress: Shakuhachi
Jacket: K-Mart
Shoes: Shakuhachi
Handbag: Shakuhachi

I was clearly having too much fun lurking the alley way of Sydney rather than perfecting my outfit shot so I am just going with the story that I meant to blur my photos for artistic purposes!

This outfit consisted of me piling on as many jewels as possible, the more necklaces the better! I dressed down my Shakuhachi Sexetary Dress with my Neon Hart sheer metallic tee.

Dinner was at Mr. Wong's for Lauren's birthday - my suggestion of course! It was totally worth the few too many wines consumed while we waited three hours for our table!

Mr Wong Highlight: Stir Fried Balmain Bugs

On the menu:
Pinot Noir
Half Chinese Roasted Duck
Stir fried Balmain Bugs with sweetcorn, woodear mushrooms and garlic butter
Stir fried chilli king prawns
Wok fried Chinese water spinach with house made chili paste
Asparagus, broccoli and sugar snap peas with garlic and rice wine
Steamed Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce and garlic oil
Four types of braised mushrooms with sautéed baby spinach and lettuce
Chocolate Cream, Coconut Sorbet, Macadamia praline and Rasberries
