I left the country for two weeks and feel like so many new stores and cafes have opened since I have been gone. It is crazy. Two new cafes have opened up in Drummoyne and today I went to "Lyons Raw". To start with, great name! Hooray, finally a trendy cafe in Drummoyne. Drummoyne really isn't known for its "cafe culture"! Cute decor, extremely friendly and gracious staff, good coffee and delicious food. Ticks all of the boxes! It appears everyone in Drummoyne loves it. Every time I drive past it is full to capacity and sprawling out onto the street.
It has two dining areas, one out the front and one out the back as well as tables on the street (although I don't know how I feel about sitting amongst the traffic on Lyons Road). It consists of single tables as well as a couple of communal tables. It has quirky decor such as old ladders hanging on the wall. The coffee bar is filled with homemade pies and treats. The young barristers behind the counter brew up a mean coffee using "Toby Estate" coffee beans.

|Bacon and Egg Pie $10|
The food was better than I expected. I had a homemade bacon and egg pie. It was delicious. Not too much pastry and the pastry was crisp and fresh. The bacon was cooked perfectly and the egg on the inside was almost boiled and in chucks rather than mushy. I have never seen that before and was quite impressed. It was topped with an olive puree which went down a treat. I also had a side of roasted mushrooms with herbs. They were extremely tasty. Their selection of salads were very inviting. I definitely will be back (probably before the end of the week) to try the rocket, walnut, pear and parmesan salad or the pickled beetroot! All food was quite reasonably priced as well!
So nice to see a cafe finally doing well in Drummoyne. It is only early days though. There is also talk of "Lyons Raw" opening for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights with a banquet style menu in the near future. Can't wait!
