Cafe hopping on a Saturday is my favourite activity! Last Saturday called for two of my favourites in Rosebery - Kitchen By Mike and The Grounds of Alexandria. Kitchen By Mike for the best canteen food around and then it was off to The Grounds for my coffee fix and sweet treat!

I sported an all Leather look with my Shakuhachi 'Brocade Tee' and Winston Wolfe 'Boyfriends for Girlfriends'. My Shakuhachi 'Brocade Booties' were obviously a matching must!

Kitchen By Mike Highlight: Nothing beats their bread and butter ... EVER! The simple things in life!

Melbourne | Day 1

The weather for my weekend in Melbourne was lovely and sunny however, still a little fresher than Sydney. Without my Winston Wolfe boyfriends for girlfriends leather pants I probably would have died from the icy air so, they may feature heavily in my upcoming posts!

After a very early morning flight and checking into The Blackman Hotel KJ and I headed to The St Kilda Galleon Cafe for breakfast.

I love a little bit of plaid but I find it a bit of a tricky trend. I feel the garment has to be well structured and sophisticated. You have to be extremely careful not to go overboard and look like a construction worker (if that is not the look you are going for).

Sometimes it is fun just to have a hint of a trend in your outfit. My 'Romance Was Born' skirt is the perfect example. The blue plaid pockets and waist band on my metallic skirt are a fun alternative to an entirely plaid skirt. Plus who doesn't love a metallic gold, pleated mini!?

I teamed my skirt with a 'Cotton On' printed, tailored shirt. The colours matched perfectly with my skirt. As there was already a lot going on with several different patterns so my accessories were kept to a minimum. I just added my 'Kenzo' flats for a little bit of sophistication!

This post is dedicated entirely to the newest addition to my wardrobe - my "Kenzo" ballet flats. They deserve a whole blog post to themselves because they are just that amazing!

You will always need a pair of good quality black ballet flats in your wardrobe so really I can look at this pair of patent "Kenzo" flats as a life time investment! My wise friend has warned me that if she doesn't see me in them at least once a week then we can't be friends anymore!

The classic shoe is given the "Kenzo" stamp of approval with an embroidered "Kenzo" lion motif on the front of both shoes. They are made from good quality, Italian leather. They are extremely soft and have extra padding for support on the inside. They fit me perfectly (which is always dicey when ordering online) and are just so incredibly comfortable.

Zoey, I feel like you may get sick of seeing me in these shoes - I may never take them off!

After months and months of wishing and talking about purchasing a 'Kenzo' jumper all of my friends will be extremely glad to know I finally bit the bullet and bought one! I have been going back and forth in my head for months - "it is just a jumper", "I can buy so many other things with that money", "they will be out of fashion soon". These arguments were really just reasons I had come up with to try and convince myself not to buy one! However, it has been at least six months and I am still lusting over
one (rare). It is extremely hard to actually lay your hands on one as they sell out everywhere in one day. Everyone envies people with one and as I simply love the jumpers, I finally stopped arguing with myself. It is meant to be when you walk into a store and see the last one they have AND it is in your size. Not buying it was really not an option at all. It had to be mine - and so I swiped my card without a second thought.

Mind you I also left the store with a pair of new 'Opening Ceremony' for 'Adidas' runners. The gorgeous watermelon and blue with leopard print features, out of this world runners really had to become part of my shoe collection immediately. I always love a good collaboration!

Of course, I had to wear my new purchases all at once - der!! It was quite an expensive Easter long weekend for me, but not to fear, I have definitely convinced myself these are worthwhile, staple pieces in my wardrobe!!
