The vibe on Saturdays and Sundays are completely different to a week day and I love it. Due to my ever changing work schedule I find myself working at least one, if not both days of the weekend so when I have free time I grab every last second. The perfect weekend for me is waking up without an alarm and then heading off to various local farmer's markets depending on which day it is (my favourite being Eveleigh and Marrickville). After my morning of moseying around the market picking up fresh food and sipping on a coffee and pretty much eating breakfast from all of the taste testers I head to other markets to scavenge for great finds(Rozelle, Glebe, Bondi or Surry Hills). After that it is time for a spot of brunch or lunch at a cafe in whatever area I happen to be in. Then it is off home for a rest before starting the night's activities.

I feel that you need to dress for the part of market shopping. I never seem to find anything good if I am not feeling quirky in my outfit choice for the day. I do realise I sound a little crazy but it is true if I am not feeling the vibe I will loose interest immediately!

Today I only had the morning off so it was just a quick trip to Marrickville markets. I channeled my inner athlete meets high fashion with a sports lux inspired outfit (maybe I subconsciously thought I have to do everything in a rush today, I better wear something that I can move in)! I was in and out of the market today very quickly as time was of the essence. I bought my stash of sweets from a lovely young lady who is a regular. Today it was a lemon slice, mars bar brownie and an oreo brownie. Without fail I will always purchase one of her oreo brownies. They are the fudgiest, gooiest brownies I have ever had (minus my mum's) and have oreo pieces throughout them. Delish! I filled my woven basket (that every avid market goer seems to carry) up with fresh vegetables and strawberries, fresh lebanese vine leaf rolls, rice pudding and borek as well as an assortment of interesting jams I purchased from a lovely couple from Ulladulla. They only make the journey up once a month so I had to stock up!

After the markets I headed to nearby cafe Cornersmith. I have been for coffee there before and wanted to try it out for a quick brunch as the food looked delicious. Boy, I wasn't the only one who had that idea, the line was out the door. To get a table you had to write your name on a blackboard wait list. I sadly did not have time to wait so a takeaway skim latte it was for me. They use Mecca coffee beans so obviously their coffee is fantastic! Next time I will eat there, I have made a promise to myself.

Even though my lazy Sunday was cut short by my cheerleading commitments I still managed to cram in many of my favourite weekend pastimes.
