Double Brocade

Same Same But Different
Sunglasses: sportsgirl
Top: Shakuhachi
Shorts: Shakuhachi
Boots: Chloe
Watch: Swatch Watch

This outfit pretty much sums up my favourite things of the moment: leather, brocade and matching tops and pants. I could have opted for the shorts and top in the same colour but I thought I would be more adventurous.

The leather of these pieces is so soft and gorgeous to wear. As soon as you put the outfit on you feel a million dollars. It is one of those outfits where the clothes do the talking. I didn't really need to add much else, except of course my Chloe Susanna Boots! Definitely an effortlessly statement outfit!

Yesterday DC and I had a lovely lunch with a fantastic view. We went to "Poolside Cafe" which is a part of "Boy Charlton Pool" located down on Mrs Macquarie's Chair. The cafe is catalysed over the smaller of the two public swimming pools.

The cafe is extremely open, airy and bright. The furniture is crisp and all of the features are white. It is accented with blue and orange accessories which give the impression of a classy yet still somewhat beachy vibe. There is a large outdoor balcony area as well as a small inside dining area which is lined with floor to ceiling glass windows and doors.

I would love to have sat outside but due to the bipolar Sydney weather (the previous day being the hottest day on record ever) it was blowing a gale outside. Nevertheless the view was equally as fantastic inside.

The lunch menu is quite sophisticated ... not the type of food you usually find on a swimming pool cafe menu. Not the type of prices either!

Marinated Olives $6

DC and I started with mixed marinated olives which were lovely. It was just a shame they didn't come with a side of bread to soak up all of the marinated juices! We shared one main and two sides. Our British waiter recommended the daily special of the "trout fillet with roasted fennel and orange salad". The dish was very tasty and well presented. The fillet (although very small) flaked away when you touched it with your knife. The citrus of the orange made for a nice contrast. We chose a simple "raddichio, fennel and vincotto salad" along side a side of "steamed greens". The vinaigrette on the salad was sweet, sticky and delicious! The steamed greens consisted of just green beans drizzled with olive oil and lemon. They were very tasty and I love green beans but I feel "steamed vegetables" should have consisted of more than one veggie!

Daily Special: Trout fillet with fennel and orange salad $24

Fennel, raddichio and vincotto salad $8

Steamed seasonal greens $8

It was a more than pleasant meal and I am very keen to return to try their breakfast. It would be lovely to sit outside on the deck and sip a morning coffee whilst watching people do laps in the pool and the navy ships going by ...
