Summer Lovin'

Colour Trippin'
Necklace: Sass and Bide
Towel: Gorman
Sunglasses: Sportsgirl
Bikini: Shakuhachi

What a crazy heat wave we had over the weekend! About time Sydney, it is nearly December. Pity about the stormy weather this week. Once again I had to leave the house with a jacket, and it is late November! Anyway, back to the point ... On the weekend I spent a lot of quality time by the pool soaking up the rays in my awesome new "Shakuhachi" bikini. All of their "Cruise Collection" swimwear is so great I found it super hard to choose just one style, let alone colour! I settled on the aqua blue "ultra neon cut out bikini". It is definitely a winner, selling out everywhere straight away. Shakuhachi really is on the money this summer with their super hot bikinis! Nothing beats a good beach towel either. I am still in love with the "Gorman" towel I purchased last summer. It is so large (big plus), colourful and really fun!

On Sunday afternoon KJ and I visited "Gather on the Green" cafe in Camperdown for a little afternoon coffee and snack. It was packed inside and out with a large number of customers also using the supplied blankets to picnic on the oval across the road.

Providing blankets and service to customers in the park is such a cute idea and one I see popping up more and more lately. Perfect for a hot Spring day however, not so great if the weather is bad! As well as dining in the park, customers can sit at the half a dozen tables, chairs and lounges inside the cafe or on the large communal table and stools out the front. The decor fits with the name, a little kitchy and a lot green!

They offer a very extensive all day breakfast menu. The lunch menu consists of a variety of sandwiches and burgers and a few speciality salads. We opted for coffee and sweets. They use Mecca coffee beans which were brewed nicely. The coffee was full bodied and had a lovely nutty after taste. We chose to share a chocolate coated meringue. You know we are suckers for meringues! The meringue was crunchy on the outside and extremely fluffy and gooey on the inside. The chocolate covering half of the shell was tempered which made all of the difference.

"Gather on the Green" staff were friendly (although a little slow to take orders)while the restaurant was cosy and homey. It certainly appeared to be a hit with the local crowd. I just hope we don't have a rainy Summer as that would be a shame for such a outdoorsy venue!
